Well, here I am on the third day of orientation at UT Austin (Hook 'em!), and I have to say that I'm more pleased with the entire thing than I thought I'd be. Coming in, I had no idea what I needed to sign up for with my major (Visual Art Studies- the art major that leads to a BFA as well as teaching certification), no idea how to get from place to place, and I only knew a few people. We leave tomorrow after actually registering for classes (I'm still a tad stressed about the one's I need being taken or available at weird times) and I have a list of the courses as well as backups that I should sign up for, I've already gotten lost, figured out how to get un-lost, and actually given other people directions, and I've met a lot of people with similar as well as varied interests. I was pleased to learn that college at a University like this is NOTHING like highschool as far as the social aspects are concerned. People are nice, courteous, interested in learning about eachother, and just as confused and new as I. It's been a really comforting experience, and it's made me proud to be attending one of the top schools in the country and one that is internationally renowned. Though, I must admit, I'll be glad to be home again tomorrow afternoon/evening. ^.^

On the note of being home again, coming up with a theme/decor for Louetta's reunion/"convention" is driving me crazy. I've switched ideas multiple times, only to go back to some and then doubt it again. XD Ahh, the price of coming up with a suprise for the rest of the gang is that the rest of the gang can't toss in theme ideas, lest the suprise no longer be a suprise. @_@ I have two confidants (not to be confused with "commandants", which are always good too ^.~) in this, and that's about it. XD

Anywho, yay for UT and yay for being home tomorrow! Oh! And my dad might be getting me a new laptop soon (this one is physically beat up and is missing the "r" key, so I have to copy one and then hit "ctrl v" every time I want to type one. It's gotten so habitual that I do it on other computers and mess myself up. XD)!!! The on-campus computer store here sells laptops (mac and pc) as well as programs like photoshop, windows, w/e for fractions of the normal cost. *so excited*

I also wanted to apologize for being behind on commenting and replying. I'll start catching up when I get home tomorrow. ^.^
